Lahaina to Kaanapali Beach
Kaanapali Beach is just a few minutes driving from Lahaina and the drive along Highway 30 offers stunning coastal views!
Driving Directions (Approximately 10-15 minutes)
- Head north on HI-30 (Honoapiilani Highway) from Lahaina.
- Continue on HI-30 for about 5 miles.
- Take the exit toward Kaanapali Parkway.
- Turn left onto Kaanapali Parkway and follow the signs to the beach.
Kahului to Kaanapali Beach
Just landed and headed to Kaanapali Beach?
The quickest route below is still about 45 minutes, but will take you along different terrains offering an early glimpse of Maui’s beauty: mountainous terrain and coastal highways through the West Maui Mountains, Maalaea Bay and Olowalu.
Driving Directions (Approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour)
- Head west on HI-380 (Kuihelani Highway) from Kahului.
- Merge onto HI-30 (Honoapiilani Highway) via the left ramp to Lahaina.
- Continue on HI-30 for about 22 miles.
- Take the exit toward Kaanapali Parkway.
- Turn left onto Kaanapali Parkway and follow the signs to the beach.
Wailea to Kaanapali Beach
If you’re staying in Wailea, you’re about an hour away from Kaanapali Beach, and Highway 30 offers stunning coastal views.
Be sure to stop at the Lahaina town where you can stop for a bite to eat, explore the historic streets and take a selfie next to the famous banyan tree!
Driving Directions (Approximately 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes)
- Head northwest on Wailea Alanui Drive.
- Turn right onto HI-31 (Piilani Highway).
- Continue on HI-31 until it turns into HI-30 (Honoapiilani Highway).
- Follow HI-30 for about 26 miles.
- Take the exit toward Kaanapali Parkway.
- Turn left onto Kaanapali Parkway and follow the signs to the beach.
Hana to Kaanapali Beach
If you stayed overnight in Hana to explore the Haleakala National Park and hike the Pipiwai Trail, you’re in for a long drive to Kaanapali Beach: about 3 hours.
The first stretch is the famous Road to Hana, one of the most scenic roads in USA, famous for its stunning coastal views, lush rainforests and amazing waterfalls.
Quick stops at Twin Falls for a refreshing hike and Hookipa Beach to view turtles and windsurfers are recommended!

- Head west on HI-360 (Hana Highway).
- Turn left onto HI-36 (Hana Highway) and continue toward Kahului.
- From Kahului, follow the directions provided above to get to Kaanapali Beach.
