Kaanapali Beachwalk
The Kaanapali Beach Walk or Kaanapali Walkway is one of the most popular attractions at Kaanapali Beach.
Offering spectacular ocean views, the Kaanapali Beach Walk runs through the landscaped grounds of several Kaanapali resorts en route, making it convenient to stop for a drink or a bite to eat.
The Kaanapali Beachwalk is a popular place to take in a colorful Kaanapali sunset, but it’s also a beautiful waterfront path for a morning stroll or for a family walk during the day.
The oceanfront walkway in Kaanapali is lined with palm trees and is just off the silky sand of Kaanapali Beach along parts of the route, so you can stop along the way to dip your toes in the water if you choose.
Paved in sections, the Kaanapali Beachwalk is packed dirt or boardwalk in other sections.

Where is the Kaanapali Beachwalk?
The beachfront walkway has two sections, separated by Black Rock.
The northern portion of the Kaanapali Beachwalk runs from Kahekili Beach Park (or even further north by the Honua Kai Resort & Spa, to Black Rock Beach at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa.
The southern portion of the Kaanapali Beach Walk runs from Black Rock Beach and the Sheraton down to Hanakao’o Park.
The entire Kaanapali Beach Walk is about 5.5 miles round trip, but you can walk as much or as little of it as you wish.
The southern part of the Kaanapali Beach Walk tends to be busier, with many waterfront eateries, resorts, and ocean activities. Walk this portion if you enjoy a lively vibe with ocean views.
The northern part of the Kaanapali Beachwalk is relatively quieter and quite scenic, if you prefer a more relaxed vibe.

Is the Kaanapali Beachwalk Open?
Kaanapali Beach is unfortunately susceptible to periodic beach erosion events, some of which can be severe enough that they cause parts (or even all) of the Kaanapali Beachwalk to be closed.
If only sections of the Kaanapali Beach Path are closed, detour signs are usually posted to get you back onto the walkway.
Check at one of the area resorts about any closures or detours if you have your heart set on walking the entire length of this beautiful oceanfront trail.
